How to complain

The fastest route is the Report this film link on the film’s own page: it records your complaint against that film and gives you a reference number immediately. You may also write to grievance@watchmycreation.com. If your complaint is that a film infringes rights you hold — copyright, a trademark, or your own name, image or likeness — our Intellectual Property Policy sets out what the complaint must contain and the clock we work to; send it to copyright@watchmycreation.com.

Please include, so far as you can:

• The film’s title and link, or your payment reference.
• What the problem is, in your own words.
• If you are complaining about your own rights — copyright, likeness, privacy — enough for us to see what you claim and on what basis.
• How to reach you.

What we will do, and when

• We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours of receiving it.
• We dispose of it within 15 days, and tell you what we decided.
• Where a complaint warrants it, we take the film off sale while we look into it. A film taken down this way stops being sold immediately.
• We keep a record of every complaint, when it arrived, when we acknowledged it and how it was disposed of.

These are the outer limits set by Rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. We usually answer sooner.

What we cannot do

We do not own the films sold here. Each filmmaker keeps ownership of their film, licenses it to us, and is responsible for holding the rights in it. We cannot decide between two people who both claim the same rights. What we can do is take a film off sale, tell the filmmaker why, and give you a record of it. A rights dispute we cannot resolve is a matter for a court, and we will comply with its order.

Unlawful content

If you believe a film is unlawful, say which law you say it breaks. We act on a court order or on a notification by an appropriate government agency, and we may act on our own view where content is plainly unlawful. We do not remove a film because someone dislikes it.

If you are not satisfied

Write again to grievance@watchmycreation.com quoting your reference, and it will be escalated to the proprietor. You retain every remedy the law gives you; nothing on this page limits that.
